The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. Bowl scheduling allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2024 Myrtle Beach Bowl.
Coastal Carolina Chanticleers Draft Prospects
Braydon Bennett, RB
Bennett has played at Coastal Carolina for five seasons now, becoming a valuable member of the program. He played a little in 2020 before putting up bigger numbers in 2021. Bennett then struggled with staying healthy, but got things back on track. In 2024, he rushed for 727 yards and 11 touchdowns.
He stands at 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds, giving him good size for the running back position. Bennett has been a reliable pass-catcher during his college career as well, which will help his chances of making a roster. He is an older prospect and will have to clear medical checks by NFL teams. There is a chance he could make an NFL roster.
Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
Shane Bruce, LB
Bruce has been with the Coastal Carolina program since 2020. He initially played on special teams, then had a medical redshirt before really making an impact over the last three seasons. In 2024, Bruce has tallied 68 total tackles and five tackles for loss.
At 6-foot-0, he isn’t the tallest linebacker, but he has a filled-out frame at 235 pounds. He can stop the run, but has had struggles in coverage. To make an NFL roster, Bruce will likely have to prove himself on special teams, something he has experience with.
Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
UTSA Roadrunners Draft Prospects
Denver Harris, CB
Harris has had an interesting college journey so far. He played for Texas A&M in 2022, then moved to LSU for 2023. Before the 2024 season, he transferred to UTSA. With the Roadrunners this season, Harris has registered 15 tackles and three passes defended.
He isn’t the biggest corner, standing 6-foot-0 and 190 pounds. Harris was a former prized recruit, so NFL teams may be willing to take a chance on him, even if the college production hasn’t matched. There is a good chance he decides to return to school to improve his stock.
Projected Draft Range: Sixth Round Pick-Undrafted Free Agent
Joseph Evans, DL
Evans played three seasons for LSU at the start of his college career. He played sparingly for the Tigers, but decided to transfer to UTSA before the 2023 season. He has five total tackles and one sack this season for the Roadrunners.
At 6-foot-3 and 335 pounds, Evans has the size of an NFL defensive lineman. He won’ have a lot of production as an interior defensive lineman, but it is hard to find players at his size who can move the way he does.
Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
Other Draft Prospects: QB Owen McCown (UFA)
