After an up and down season, the Minnesota ROKKR have announced they will not be exercising the team options for Dillon “Attach” Price, Cameron “Cammy” McKilligan, Benjamin “Bance” Bance and Marcus “Afro” Reid. On Sunday June 25, the announcement was made on Twitter that the ROKKR won’t be extending these four players. In the same press release, Minnesota noted that Kevin “Fame” Bonanno will also become a unrestricted free agent once the free agency window opens July 2.
The ROKKR had quite the quiet season in 2023. The squad kicked off the year strong with a solid 3-1 showing in the Major I qualifiers. Unfortunately their first Major of 2023 ended in heartbreak, as they fell to the Vegas Legion 3-2 early on in the bracket. Sadly for ROKKR fans, this would remain a constant theme for the Minnesota franchise for the better part of the 2023 season. Despite a few top-3 finishes in Major II and Major V, the ROKKR failed to truly make a splash throughout the year.

The ROKKR called up Fame from ROKKR Academy in late March in search for that spark the team desperately needed. While the callup didn’t make the difference like the coaching staff would’ve liked, ROKKR welcomed Attach back to the starting lineup and moved Afro to the substitute spot. Once again the change seemed relatively unsuccessful, Minnesota did find themselves grabbing a bronze medal in Major V.
Minnesota now looks ahead to the future with a clean slate. The org did note that they may re-sign these players if the circumstances seem right. Only time will tell if the ROKKR will welcome back their 2023 roster.
