After 8 months since its launch back in July of 2022, the Multiversus Beta will be halting all of its online services to address certain issues and consumer feedback. So when exactly does the MultiVersus shutdown?
Til Next time
Warner Bros. Games along with Player First Games have made a statement saying that all of MultiVersus’s online services will be shut done starting June 25. Since its launch, MultiVersus has always been in its open beta stage. This lengthy downtime is said to serve as the key to the title’s development.
The reason for the absence is to focus attention on the content cadence of new characters, maps, and game modes. The in-game progression system will also be receiving some changes as well. Along with new and updated content, the team plans to update their netcode and matchmaking.
Tony Huynh, co-founder, and game director at Player First Games, regarding the announcement, stated “Our Open Beta has been an important learning opportunity for us and a stepping stone to the next phase of MultiVersus.”
What Now?
June 25 is when the MultiVersus Beta shutsdown but that doesn’t mean the title is going anywhere, just the online portion. Anyone who wishes to still play the title can, however, they will have access to limited features. Players will still have access to the training room and local matches. Player progress and cosmetics will still be kept.
MulitVersus will be coming back just not for some time. the title will be relaunching sometime in early 2024. Until April 4 the title will still be made available for download including its in-game currency Gleamiuim.
