Washington Commanders rookie Brian Robinson may get his first NFL start on Thursday Night Football against the Chicago Bears. After being shot in an attempted carjacking, he was unable to play for the first four weeks of the season.
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Thursday.
Robinson was drafted by the Commanders in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Alabama in the third round. In college, he won two College Football National Championships in 2017 and 2020. He made the First Team All-SEC in 2021 and earned the Cotton Bowl Classic MVP in the same year.
On August 28, he was shot in the knee and in the glute when two men attempted to steal his vehicle. Robinson was placed on the non-football injury list and returned to the active roster on October 8. In Week 5, his NFL debut, he rushed nine times for 22 yards.
