The Los Angeles Chargers have continued to add to their defense, as they have reached a deal with nose tackle Austin Johnson. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport was the first to report the news.
Former #Giants DT Austin Johnson is expected to sign with the #Chargers, source said. Another add on D.

Johnson, 27, was a second-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. He spent time with the Titans then the Giants. In his career, Johnson has registered 173 tackles and seven sacks. For the 2021 season, he had 72 tackles and 3.5 sacks.
The Chargers have already added Khalil Mack and J.C. Jackson to their defense. Their run defense didn’t perform well last season, so the addition of Johnson should help in that regard. With all of their additions, the Chargers will be trying to make a run to the Super Bowl.
