This article will be a part two from the last article. More players will be included to see who flopped or who performed to the best of their abilities. Who will be in this article?
Jordan Poole – Grade: A+
Poole has been a monster this entire summer. In the preseason, he averaged some hefty numbers alongside Steph Curry. He put averages of 21.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists 1.0 steals and 0.4 blocks a game. The efficiency was on display as well, shooting 51% from the field, 36% from three and 87% from the line. Poole is expected to have a major role this year and his emergence is a welcome sight for the Warriors front office. Expect him to increase his numbers even further this year, until Klay Thompson comes back at least. Poole is proving all of the doubters wrong as he’s looking like a major scoring option for this club.
Mo Bamba – Grade: A
Bamba was an afterthought while Nikola Vucevic was in town. Ever since he left, he has proven that he can perform at a much higher level. He has much more freedom to produce on offense and his rim protection has proven to be a difference-maker. In this year’s pre-season, he has averaged 11.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 0.5 assists and an absurd 3.8 blocks a game on 55% from the field, 42% from three and 63% from the line. Bamba’s efficiency has been incredible and the shot-blocking is insane as well. Due to the fact that Vucevic is no longer around and the only competition he has to deal with is Wendell Carter Jr., he will be able to produce as a hybrid floor-spreader/shot-blocking big.
O.G. Anunoby – Grade: A+
Anunoby is going to be a top-three option on his team this year. Siakam may be out for a little part of the beginning of the season so it could be up to Fred VanVleet and Anunoby to pick up the slack. Anunoby looks like a star in the making with his tremendous two-way play. He averaged 19.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.5 steals a game on 52% from the field, 54% from three and 92% from the line. To say he hit a majority of his shots is an understatement. The man has only gotten better and better as the seasons pass and the fact that he was a late first-round pick is amazing. Toronto just knows how to pick them.
Keldon Johnson – Grade: B
Johnson was alright in the preseason. He didn’t exactly light up the scoreboard or have explosive games, but he got the job done. Johnson put averages of 15.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 0.4 steals a game on 47% from the field, 29% from three and 63% from the line. It’s just the preseason so it’s not the end of the world for his mediocre play. He still put up some good scoring numbers but once the regular season comes, he’ll get a bigger opportunity to produce. Expect Johnson to be the main scoring option on this rebuilding Spurs squad.
