Last Friday started out with upsets galore, then things started to settle down. While teams are still making some last-minute pushes, most are just trying to hold onto their spots. Even with all of the crazy games, many teams are staying relatively even as they finally start to settle in for the LCS. With that, before Week 8 begins, here is a look at where each LCS team stacks up in this week’s Power Rankings.

10. CLG (Even)
Bringing in Damonte was sadly not enough for CLG and it wouldn’t be surprising to see them make more changes. This group of veterans just has not worked out and they are just about guaranteed not to make playoffs at this point. There is a lot of work CLG need to do as an org and figuring out what they have at the Academy level might be advised at this point.
9. Dignitas (Down 1)
It is crazy that Dignitas can go from beating 100Thieves and getting into playoffs to then losing two straight the way they did. This team was once vying for a top spot, now they are lucky CLG are as bad as they are. The one good thing for Dignitas is they still have some time to figure things out and have an opponent they should beat in Immortals to start off Week 8.
8. Immortals (Up 1)
Taking a win off of CLG? Not that impressive. Taking one off of C9? Not as impressive as it used to be but still not bad to say the least. IMT needed a 2-1 weekend pretty badly and are now in the driver’s seat for the seventh seed. If IMT want to be anything more than a slight speedbump for any of the top teams during the playoffs then they have to start finding success against the better teams now.
7. Team Liquid (Down 1)
The fall from grace for Team Liquid has been fast. They have not beat one of the top four teams since the beginning of Week 4 when they took down EG. That was eleven games ago. Now even with Alphari, this team is still struggling to find wins. If their recent games against 100T and TSM are any indication, TL don’t really have a chance during playoffs unless they get a major playoff buff.
6. FlyQuest (Up 1)
This past weekend FlyQuest played arguably the three best teams in the LCS and were able to sneak away with a win against TSM. They did not look particularly good in any of their three games but neither did anyone below them. Luckily for them, Week 8 presents a major chance for them to further their playoff chances. They get a hapless TL, a struggling C9 and a below-average DIG team. If they are legit, they will be able to pull off the 2-1 or 3-0, if not then they get placed back down maybe where they should be.
5. Golden Guardians (Even)
This Licorice addition has done wonders for everyone on GG. Stixxay is finding his former self, Ablazolive is playing weird picks and still finding success while the young guns in Iconic and Chime are doing their jobs well. This team desperately wants to make the playoffs and they are certainly playing well enough to make it. Sadly their Spring may be too much to overcome. They still have two weeks left and if they can find a way to go 5-1, they definitely could sneak right on in.
4. Cloud9 (Even)
Cloud9 might want to rebrand to Fudge9 as this kid is literally carrying a half-dead carcass to the finish line. It is incredible how underwhelming this team is right now considering the talent they have. They have yet to beat 100T, EG or TSM yet this summer. If there was a team to receive a playoff buff it would likely be C9. That said, they will have to battle their way through playoffs considering how badly they have been playing.
3. TSM (Even)
A major throw against FLY was just enough to keep TSM from tying with 100Thieves for the top spot in the LCS. Even with that bad game, TSM looked much more cohesive than in Week 6 and are finally starting to put together an early game. Should they be able to match their early game and late game, TSM may finally come into their own. They have a very important weekend starting with a very important game against EG to start Week 8. Whoever wins that game will likely finish top two with 100T.
2. Evil Geniuses (Even)
Even though they are down two games and lost to GG, Evil Geniuses are still on a steep upward trend. They have the opportunity to take a top seed from TSM with their Friday game in Week 8. With a win over TSM they would hold the tiebreaker and only be one game down. With an opportunity to only need one series win and make it to Worlds, EG are certainly going to push for that top spot in a big way.
1. 100 Thieves (Even)
The loss to Dignitas felt like 100T were distracted or uninterested. That little kick may be what they need to close out what has been an incredible Summer Split for the team looking to win their first LCS championship. They are still only one game up on TSM and their Week 9 schedule is pretty tough. 100T need to set the tone for the end of the season this week in order to keep their first seed.
