Aaron Rodgers failed to report to mandatory minicamp for the Green Bay Packers, which started Tuesday at at 8:30am. This means that Aaron Rodgers is now officially holding out for the 2021 season, although that could end whenever he chooses.
NBC Milwaukee’s Lance Allan reported that while Rodgers is not presence, his wide receivers have taken the field.
As expected no Aaron Rodgers at #Packers mini camp but WR’s Davante Adams, Devin Funchess, MVS, Allen Lazard and St Brown are on field

Now that Rodgers is officially holding out, it is up to the Packers to make the next move. The team is within its rights to fine him for his absence, according to the collective bargaining agreement. The front office does not have to fine him, however.
If he sits out for the remainder of minicamp, the Packers can fine Rodgers up to $93,000. Considering sitting out OTAs already robbed him of a $500,000 workout bonus, the money is likely not an issue for him. The decision to fine him could likely worsen the relationship between Rodgers and the front office, because it is not required.
Eventually, offseason practices come with required fines, as defined by the CBA. Stay tuned to TGH see if holding out will cost Rodgers any money before those practices come around.
