The Chicago Bears have released OLB Leonard Floyd, a former first round draft pick. They also signed defensive end Robert Quinn for a reported $70 million.
Adam Schefter reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday afternoon.
Bears are releasing former first-round draft pick Leonard Floyd, per source.

Floyd played and started in all 16 games during 2019, forcing no fumbles and racking up only three sacks. He also collected a combined 40 tackles.
Robert Quinn had 11.5 sacks in 2019, also forcing two fumbles and defending three passes. However, he had less combined tackles than Floyd at only 34.
The Bears are clearly trying to adjust their defense after losing a step from 2018 to 2019. Getting rid of an unproductive Floyd, coupled with getting an effective player like Robert Quinn who has proved himself over nine NFL seasons will help that effort.
