NFL Week 8 is here. Picking NFL games straight up is hard enough, but picking against the spread is even tougher. Here are the NFL week 8 picks against the spread. (Spreads are from Tallysight as of Tuesday morning)
Last Week: 10-5
Season: 61-43-3
Minnesota Vikings (-3) at Los Angeles Rams
Minnesota is coming off a tough game against the Lions, which makes this tougher. Every team who has played the Lions has lost the next week if they didn’t have a bye. This will be at the very least be close with the Rams getting healthier, so the Rams can be taken with the points.
Pick: Rams
Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans (-5.5)
While the Colts got a win over the Dolphins in Anthony Richardson’s return, but the offense looks sloppy. Houston has been taking care of business and can be trusted at home to cover the spread.
Pick: Texans
Green Bay Packers (-4.5) at Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars will be coming back from London for this game. Green Bay’s defense has been good, while the Jaguars have had their issues offensively.
Pick: Packers
Tennessee Titans at Detroit Lions (-10.5)
Whether Will Levis or Mason Rudolph starts, the Titans’ offense hasn’t been good. Detroit’s defense can keep them in check and their offense can put up points.
Pick: Lions
Atlanta Falcons (-2.5) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Buccaneers will be on a short week and will not have Chris Godwin for this game most likely. They will be at home and the Falcons haven’t been consistent this season.
Pick: Buccaneers
New York Jets (-7) at New England Patriots
New England looked bad against the Jaguars in London and it looks like things aren’t great in the locker room. The Jets lost a tough one to the Steelers, but can outscore the Patriots.
Pick: Jets
Arizona Cardinals at Miami Dolphins (-3.5)
Tua Tagovailoa will be back for this game and the Cardinals will be on a short week. Tagovailoa should be able to activate Miami’s talented receivers and get the home win.
Pick: Dolphins
Philadelphia Eagles at Cincinnati Bengals (-2.5)
Cincinnati seems to be settling in for the season. They have won three of their last four and their defense is playing better. The Eagles have had issues being consistent on offense, which could come back to bite them in this one.
Pick: Bengals
Baltimore Ravens (-9.5) at Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns are playing Jameis Winston, which should improve the offense as he has a willingness to push the ball downfield. While the Ravens will win, the Browns’ defense can keep it within 9.5 points.
Pick: Browns
New Orleans Saints at Los Angeles Chargers (-7.5)
The Saints have had a lot of injuries and have lost five straight games. While the Chargers have had an up-and-down season, they should be able to beat a really banged-up Saints team.
Pick: Chargers
Buffalo Bills (-3) at Seattle Seahawks
Seattle’s defense has had some rough games and now DK Metcalf is injured. Buffalo had a tough road stretch a few weeks ago that resulted in some losses, but they have now won two straight and have Amari Cooper to utilize.
Pick: Bills
Chicago Bears (-2.5) at Washington Commanders
The Bears have a good defense and with Jayden Daniels possibly not playing they are the smart pick.
Pick: Bears
Kansas City Chiefs (-9.5) at Las Vegas Raiders
Las Vegas traded away Davante Adams and now Aiden O’Connell is out. The offense is limited. Kansas City’s defense can win the game and the offense may be able to get things on he right track long-term.
Pick: Chiefs
Carolina Panthers at Denver Broncos (-7.5)
The Broncos have been fueled by a good defense this season. Carolina should be able to keep the game low-scoring, even if Denver wins.
Pick: Panthers
Dallas Cowboys at San Francisco 49ers (-4.5)
While the 49ers have some injuries to wide receivers, the Cowboys are banged up defensively. The 49ers can protect their home field and win.
Pick: 49ers
New York Giants at Pittsburgh Steelers (-5.5)
The Steelers got a boost from Russell Wilson in his first start, but that usually doesn’t last. Pittsburgh’s defense can get them a win, but it could be close.
Pick: Giants
