Donaldson, 34, has hit .273 with 219 home runs and 645 RBIs. He has spent time with the Oakland Athletics, Toronto Blue Jays, Cleveland Indians and Atlanta Braves.
The Twins will be hoping Donaldson can help them on their quest for a World Series, as they won 101 games last season, but lost three straight games to the Yankees in the ALDS which eliminated them.
