A player leaked a brand new gameplay feature: Ledge grabbing. The footage showcases the player character sprinting, then jumping into the air. They land on top of a boulder, catching the ledge with their hands and promptly lifting themselves up.
The footage linked on Reddit has already garnered over 40,000 views in a little over twelve hours — highlighting the general hype over new Starfield gameplay.
This may seem rather insignificant to some. After all, fast paced movement and ledge grabbing have been utilized by a countless number of games. “Seems like a silly thing to get excited about but considering this is a Bethesda game, it’s a pretty big step,” a user explained.
Community celebrates ledge grabs
The community praised the new gameplay mechanic, as it seemingly showcases the improved quality of third person shooters.
“Is this still a Bethesda game? That ledge grab was fast, snappy, and smooth. Looked like something you’d get in a twitchy multiplayer game,” one Redditor commented.
“One of the big leakers recently mentioned the 3rd Person is hugely improved. Very nice to see it getting more love,” another replied, continuing the praise and reassuring the community of the quality of Starfield gameplay.
Though the game hasn’t officially released quite yet, it appears the Starfield gameplay will be quite versatile and fast paced — as proven by the leaked ledge grabbing mechanic.
