Surprising isn’t it? I am sure I am part of a huge minority, or maybe even the only person in America, thinking the Cardinals are going to finish below first or second within the division, but I have my reasons for this.
For one, Carson Palmer is now 36 years old. He has had multiple knee issues. After last year’s playoffs I believe he has lost some confidence as well. The Cardinals are talented but, can only go as far as Palmer takes them and this year we will see a decline in Palmer’s play and ability. Quarterback play is vital in the NFL and the decline of Palmer will hurt the Cardinals.
Mostly this is more about the teams that I think will be better. I don’t envision the Seahawks missing the playoffs. They are well coached with a very solid quarterback and championship defense. I also think the 49ers are going to be vastly improved under Chip Kelly and because of this someone has to finish third. It won’t be hard to be better than the Rams.
