The 2024 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Michael Hall 2024 NFL Draft Profile.
Michael Hall Background
Position: Interior Defensive line
School: Ohio State
Size:Â 6-foot-3, 290 pounds
Class: Redshirt Sophomore
2023 stats:Â 24 total tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks
While Hall only spent a few seasons at Ohio State, he really made an impression. Now he is in the 2024 NFL Draft.
As a five-star prospect in the class of 2021, Hall signed with his home-state Buckeyes for college. He had two tackles in 2021, but redshirted. In 2022, he stepped into a bigger role with 19 total tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks. His play helped Ohio State win 11 games that season. Last season, Hall had 24 total tackles, two tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. He led the Buckeyes to another 11-win season.
Following the 2023 season, Hall declared for the 2024 NFL Draft. He is currently projected to be a third to fourth-round draft pick.
Michael Hall Strengths
Hall is a great athlete for an interior defensive lineman. He has good quickness and converts that to speed. His agility is also really good and he has decent flexibility. Hall is able to move quickly, which puts pressure on interior defensive linemen.
At the snap of the ball, Hall moves quickly. He times up the snap well and his quick first step sets him up for success on a lot of plays. He then attacks gaps quickly, which makes offensive linemen react to recover from his first step.
He has a few decent pass rush moves. Hall has a good swim move that can be successful in the NFL. In addition to his moves, he also has counters with the ability to set them up well. He should be able to win one on one matchups at the NFL level.
Michael Hall Weaknesses
Hall has limited play strength. He can be overpowered by bigger opponents blocking him. Hall also has trouble anchoring and taking on double teams. He can add some strength to his frame to help improve in this area, but it can’t come at the expense of his athleticism.
His hand usage can improve. He needs to strike with quicker, stronger hands. With more active hand usage, he can shed a little better. Hall also needs to have better hand placement, as he can do a better job of setting himself up for success.
Right now, Hall is a better pass rusher than a run defender. He can shed quicker or anchor better to help with the run more. Hall does pursue the ball carrier well, but to be a more well-rounded player, he needs to improve how he handles blocks in the running game.
