The Cleveland Browns have found a new defensive coordinator after firing Joe Woods at the conclusion of the 2022-2023 season. Jim Schwartz has been named the new Browns DC after spending the last two seasons as a Senior Defensive Assistant with the Titans.
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.
Schwartz’s coaching career goes all the way back to 1989, when he was a graduate assistant at the University of Maryland, in his home state. He held four jobs in the college ranks, before moving to the NFL for good.
He began his NFL coaching career with the Browns back in 1993, the team to which he will return 31 seasons later. While the defensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles, he won Super Bowl 52 against the Patriots. This will be his fourth defensive coordinator position.
