The Giants are planning to cut wide receiver Kenny Golladay at the start of the new league year, on March 15. This move will save the Giants $6.7 million against the cap. Golladay was a high-priced free agent who did not pan out with the team.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.
Golladay was originally a third round pick out of Northern Illinois University in the 2017 NFL Draft. He earned his ownly Pro Bowl nod and was the NFL receiving touchdowns leader in the same year, back in 2019.
In March of 2021, Golladay signed a four-year, $72 million deal with the Giants. In 26 games as a Giant, Golladay had just 43 receptions for 602 yards and one touchdown. He will be able to sign with any team he chooses when the new league year begins.
