The 2022-23 NFL season began a few weeks ago which means so did fantasy football. After getting a taste of the NFL season last week, it is important not to overreact and make some risky moves when setting lineups for this week. For the first few weeks, fantasy managers should pay attention to trends that they see from teams that could shape the rest of the season. Here are fantasy football week 4 wide receiver rankings.
*Ratings are subject to change due to injury reports or possible move to reserve/COVID-19 list*
(Check out the section below for details on players already rumored to possibly miss this week and how their replacement options rank for the week)
Key:
Must Start- a player who is in your lineup regardless of the matchup or most circumstances. They will likely finish near the top of the league in points that week and in most weeks.
Starting WR1- a player who makes fantasy owners comfortable starting week after week. Regardless of the matchup, this player has a high floor.
High WR2- a player who may isn’t likely to carry a lineup that week, but has the ability to have a breakout game and is teetering between WR1 and WR2 category.
Starting WR2- a player who should be started in most lineups and should reach their point projection. This player is started is because of their consistency and moderately high floor
Low WR2- a player who may not be a lock to start for a team every week, but will start more times than not. Their production may not be pretty or win a person their lineup but the production is consistent enough to make a fantasy owner comfortable starting them.
Flex- a player who could float around the territory of being benched, but is started due to the potential to play better than their point projection. However, this player has the potential to flop and causes a fantasy team to lose if he has a bad game.
Deeper League Flex- a player who has starting value in deeper leagues. There are enough reasons to leave this player on the bench, but their upside makes them an attractive option. Desperate times may call for a player like this to be inserted into starting lineups.
Upside Player- a player who is boom or bust. This player can exceed expectations in a given week or could flop and be the reason why someone lost their fantasy matchup.
Leave on the Bench- a player who should be avoided in all lineups that week. Many times this player could even be left on waivers.

Possible Changes that can occur before Sunday
Detroit Lions Wide Receivers: WR7 Amon-Ra St. Brown & WR55 Josh Reynolds
Amon-Ra St. Brown suffered an ankle injury Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings. Josh Reynolds is also dealing with an ankle issue. If both St. Brown and Reynolds miss this game against the Seattle Seahawks then DJ Chark moves up to WR33 between Mike Williams and D.J. Moore. Quintez Cephus then becomes an interesting DFS play next week.
If St. Brown misses this game and Reynolds his healthy Chark moves up to WR35 between Brandon Aiyuk and JuJu Smith-Schuster. Reynolds then moves up to WR40 between Allen Lazard and Hunter Renfrow.
If St. Brown plays and Reynolds misses this game Quinetz Cephus would become a risky but interesting DFS play this week.
WR10 Jaylen Waddle, Miami Dolphins
Jaylen Waddle was limited during Tuesday’s walk-through with a groin injury. If he was to miss this week’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals Cedrick Wilson would join the list at WR62 between Greg Dortch and Jarvis Landry.
WR13 Keenan Allen, Los Angeles Chargers
Keenan Allen missed Los Angeles’ past two games with a hamstring injury. He is expected to resume playing this week. If Allen cannot play against the Houston Texans on Sunday then Mike Williams moves up to WR29 between Gabe Davis and Chris Godwin. Joshua Palmer moves up to WR33 between Rashod Bateman and D.J. Moore. DeAndre Carter would move up the list to WR58 between Michael Gallup and Marquez Valdes-Scantling.
New Orleans Saints Wide Receivers: WR25 Michael Thomas & WR63 Jarvis Landry
Michael Thomas suffered a toe injury against the Carolina Panthers next week. Jarvis Landry is currently dealing with a foot issue. If neither Thomas nor Landry plays this week against the Minnesota Vikings then Chris Olave moves up to WR17 between Mike Evans and Courtland Sutton. Tre’Quan Smith and Marquez Callaway would be next in line for targets.
If Thomas does not play and Landry is active then Olave moves up to WR17 between Mike Evans and Courtland Sutton. Landry would then move up to WR48 between Elijah Moore and Treylon Burks.
If Thomas plays and Landry does not play then Olave retains his value at WR19.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Wide Receivers: WR30 Chris Godwin & WR51 Julio Jones
Chris Godwin has missed the past two games with a hamstring issue. Julio Jones has missed Tampa Bay’s past two games with a knee injury. If neither Godwin nor Jones is active against the Kansas City Chiefs then Russell Gage moves up to WR32 between Rashod Bateman and Mike Williams. Breshad Perriman would move up to WR56 between Josh Reynolds and Darnell Mooney. Cole Beasley would move up to WR59 between Michael Gallup and Marquez Valdes-Scantling.
If Godwin is inactive but Jones plays then Jones would move up to WR39 between Allen Lazard and Hunter Renfrow. Gage would move up to WR42 between DJ Chark and Chase Claypool. One of Breshad Perriman and Cole Beasley would likely be third on the team in target share this week.
If Godwin plays but Jones is inactive then Russell Gage moves up to WR51 between Mack Hollins and Jahan Dotson. One of Breshad Perriman and Cole Beasley would likely be third on the team in target share this week.
WR40 Hunter Renfrow, Las Vegas Raiders
Hunter Renfrow missed last week’s game against the Tennessee Titans because of a concussion. If Renfrow misses this week’s game against the Denver Broncos then Mack Hollins will move up to WR41 between DJ Chark and Chase Claypool.
WR44 Jakobi Meyers, New England Patriots
Jakobi Meyers missed last week’s game against the Baltimore Ravens because of a knee issue. If Meyers is to miss this week’s game against the Green Bay Packers then DeVante Parker would move up to WR51 between Julio Jones and Jahan Dotson. Nelson Agholor would then retain his value at WR68.
WR57 Michael Gallup, Dallas Cowboys
There’s a chance Michael Gallup makes his season debut this week against the Washington Commanders. If he doesn’t play this week then Noah Brown would move up to WR49 between Elijah Moore and Treylon Burks.
New York Giants Wide Receivers: WR78 Wan’Dale Robinson & WR87 Kadarius Toney
Wan’Dale Robinson missed the past two games with a knee injury. Kadarius Toney has been dealing with a hamstring issue. Now that Sterling Shepard is out for the season it is hard to navigate which receivers will consistently see work for the Giants past Richie James.
