The weekend is a full schedule that has all 30 teams playing everyday. In fantasy baseball every week is a must win. This list identifies players that are likely to be in free agency and why they should be streamed this weekend.
Ramon Laureano, OF, Oakland Athletics
Ramon Laureano is one of the hottest players in baseball right now. His last seven games have seen him hit three home runs, 11 RBIs, and stealing two bases as well. His match up this weekend will be tough but newfound confidence makes it easy for fantasy managers to start him.
Ian Desmond, 1B/OF, Colorado Rockies
Ian Desmond appeared on a drop list earlier in the year. Â https://thegamehaus.com/fantasy-baseball-players-to-add-and-drop-april-25/2019/04/25/. He, however, is enjoying a 12 game hit streak with 16 RBIs over that span. Desmond is hit or miss the rest of the year but should be started while still on a streak.
Lourdes Gurriel Jr, 2B/SS/OF, Toronto Blue Jays
Four home runs over the past ten days helped Gurriel double his home run count and push his slugging percentage up to .561. That number would place him as 16th in the MLB. He isn’t the only hot hitter for the Blue Jays right now which should help lead to additional runs and RBIs.
Oscar Mercado, OF, Cleveland Indians
Mercado has performed well since his call up earlier in the year. Â His batting average sits at .308 with an on-base percentage of .362. He only has four home runs but has contributed with 25 runs, 13 RBIs and six stolen bases. The top prospect is available in just under 90 percent of ESPN leagues but is proving that should change.
Jorge Soler, OF, Kansas City Royals
Soler has three home runs in his past four games, one of which came against the Minnesota team that he plays again this weekend. He already has 20 home runs on the year and looks to keep adding more. Add Soler if in need of home runs.
Garrett Cooper, 1B/OF, Miami Marlins
Similarly to Mercado, Garrett Cooper was called up in the middle of the year as well. Cooper, however, is more of a power hitter where Mercado is known for his speed. Cooper only has one home run in his current 11-game hitting streak but look for him to add more this weekend.
Lance Lynn, SP, Texas Rangers
Lance Lynn has at least seven strikeouts and six innings pitched in each of his last six games. His next game comes against a weak hitting Chicago White Sox team on Saturday. Look for him to continue putting above average numbers on the board.
Nick Pivetta, SP, Philadelphia Phillies
Pivetta gets to pitch against the Miami Marlins this weekend and besides for Cooper, they haven’t been a great hitting team. This is different from his previous starts where he was pitted against some tough hitting teams.
Tommy Milone, SP, Seattle Mariners
Through 32 and 2/3 innings Milone only has a .89 WHIP to go with 32 strikeouts. The fantasy managers that have been using Milone are happy, however, he is only owned in 5.2 percent of ESPN leagues. He goes against the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday and should be started in every format.
Merrill Kelly, SP, Arizona Diamondbacks
Kelly has had an up and down season thus far and should be in for an up on Sunday. He goes against the San Francisco Giants team that he beat earlier in the year. The Giants have the fewest hits and the third fewest runs in 2019. Look for Kelly to take advantage.
