Players, the 7-star Mewtwo raid is coming on September 1. And as with any 7 star raid, it will be hard. This piece will serve as a guide to help players plan to take on Mewtwo in this Pokémon Scarlet and Violet 7-Star raid.
Raid Boss Info
The raid boss for this event will be a level 100 Mewtwo with a psychic tera type. The event goes from September 1 to September 17. Remember players, in order to access this event, the entire main story, including the post game Ace Academy Tournament must be completed. Players must also have unlocked 6 star raids after doing enough 5 star raids.
These are Mewtwo’s stats:
Level: 100
Type: Psychic
Ability: Unpressure
Moves: Psystrike, Psychic, Focus Blast, Shadow Ball, Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, Dazzling Gleam
This Mewtwo also has 31 IVs in every stat
Ideal Counters
Mew
True to the event and the lore, Mew is one of the best counters to Mewtwo as you can outfit it with any build necessary for taking Mewtwo on. One of the best tera types to give Mew is Dark. As Mewtwo will maintain its psychic typing, dark will help Mew be immune to Mewtwo’s psychic attacks when terastalized. Players will also want to make sure it is level 100 and trained for speed.
For moves, Mew will definitely want Dark Pulse. Nasty plot is a good pairing move so Mew can raise its special attack, making Dark Pulse more powerful. A screen move, specifically Light Screen, is good to keep Mew bulkier, but players can also have an ally be in charge of support so their Mew can be all offensive.
For the last two moves, Shadow Ball and any move that can help lower Mewtwo’s attack or defense stats. Items are up to the player, but Expert Belt will help boost the damage from super-effective attacks.
Hydreigon
Hydreigon is one of the best offensive dark dragon types in the game. Terastalize it into a dark type fully so if Mewtwo has Dazzling Gleam it will not hit it. Be sure it’s just as trained as Mew is. For the first move in this build, teach Hydreigon Dark Pulse. Just like with Mew, it’s one of the best dark type dealing moves. Nasty Plot is also viable for this strat.
For the last two moves: Snarl and Tera Blast for more stab boosts. Make sure Hydreigon is trained in Special Attack and Speed. For items, players could use Life Orb or Shell Bell.
Blissey
The last suggestion on this list is for Blissey. Blissey is a normal type special sponge. This means none of Mewtwo’s special attacks will do anything and if tera typed to dark, it makes it even more of a shield. Players will want their Blisseys trained for HP and Special Defense. Blissey has been part of both waves of Mewtwo preparation raids.
For Blissey, players will want this set:
Light Screen
Softboiled
Shadow Ball
Calm Mind
Light Screen will be Blissey’s support move to keep the likes of Mew and Hydreigon alive. Softboiled will also give Blissey a means of self-healing. Despite having a measely 75 Special Attack stat, using Calm Mind twice to enhance it will make the super effective Shadow Ball more of a threat. Blissey users should equip it with Leftovers or Shell Bell.
While many Pokémon can help, these three are the best for this job.
Conclusion
This is the official Game Haus guide for the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet 7 Star Mewtwo Raid. This is one of the best raid events to come out in awhile. And if players use their Mews to participate, they will be in for a special surprise. Good luck, players. Mew is counting on you.
