Dustin Johnson’s remarkable year continued to roll on this past Sunday as he marched triumphantly to collect his trophy at the BMW Championship. Johnson took home the trophy this weekend by beating Paul Casey (20-under-par) by three strokes.
Going into this weekend Johnson had already claimed two wins in June at the US Open and the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, and while this win did catapult him back into first place in the FedEx Cup rankings, this weekend won’t win the FedEx Cup. Johnson will have to come back better than ever to take on the other 29 competitors he’ll be facing this next weekend at the Tour Championship if he wants to cap off this 2015-16 season with a FedEx Cup win.
Nevertheless, Johnson has never ceased to amaze the PGA Tour this year.

With the Tour Championship coming up this next weekend, the PGA Tour had to cut players ranked from No. 31 to No. 70, and a few players were able to squeeze their way into the final event of the year. Most notably, Roberto Castro made the leap from No. 53 to No. 21 thanks to a third place finish this past weekend at the BMW Championship. Daniel Berger, J.B. Holmes, and Charl Schwartzel were also able to fight their way into the top-30 with their performances as well.

However, with people like Castro moving up the ranks, people have to fall as well. Rickie Fowler, Sergio Garcia, and Brooks Koepka all fell out of the top-30 after placing lower than they would like this past weekend.

Next week, the PGA Tour heads to the East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta for the Tour Championship by Coca-Cola where the world will see the best golfers of the 2015-16 season duke it out one last time.
