The Houston Outlaws had quite a surprising start to the 2023 offseason. They dropped longtime face of the franchise Dante “Danteh” Cruz, and standout rookie Tae-min “Mer1t” Choi was transferred to the Florida Mayhem. However on December 23, the Houston Outlaws unveiled a few new pieces to their 2023 roster. The Houston Outlaws announced the addition of support Jin-seo “Shu” Kim and Jung-woo “Happy” Lee.
Both Shu and Happy join the Outlaws after spending the previous season with the Los Angeles Gladiators. Happy joined the Glads half way through the season, but ultimately became a key cog in the Gladiators playoff push. The two players join forces once again after previously playing together on the Guangzhou Charge. This also marks the second stint with the Outlaws for Happy.
In this free agency, the Houston Outlaws recently lost former support Jung-wun “Lastro” Mun. Lastro is headed to Los Angeles to fill the hole left by Shu’s departure. The announcement of Lastro’s departure came just a day before the free agency window, signaling that it may have been a free agency acquisition rather than a transfer.

The Houston Outlaws welcome Shu and Happy as they join another new face in Eui-seok “Fearless” Lee. Together these players join Se-hyun “Pelican” Oh as the Outlaws new foundation for 2023. The three will look to join Fearless in his pursuit for a second Grand Finals championship. Happy and Shu have come close to winning the year-end bracket, however they just haven’t quite reached the summit.
The Houston Outlaws will have to find their last support to complete their 2023 roster.
