‘Tis the season for festive new skins. With the Winter Wonderland even in full swing, players are opening their loot boxes in hopes for some of those amazing new skins. Each new cosmetic is certainly a gift, but some gifts are just a little nicer than others. Sure it’s rude to judge gifts from friends and family, but it’s definitely time to rank the 2020 Winter Wonderland skins.

8. Elf Junkrat
When it comes to seasonal events, Junkrat receives some pretty iconic skins. His 2020 holiday skin however is not a hit. It looks like a simple color swap and for a skin that players have to earn, it doesn’t have that same “must-have” feel that others do. He does have a hat, so he does have that going for him. It shouldn’t be surprising to see many players sticking with the Krampus skin over this latest entry into his wardrobe.
7. Gingerbread Ana
Bringing in that real “Grandma” energy is the Gingerbread Ana skin. As the second skin players must win to earn, it’s definitely a step up above Elf Junkrat. Much like Junkrat’s skin, Ana’s new winter skin just seems like a “red Ana” skin. Though looking at her gun, players get to see cute little ginger bread people painted on the side. Overall, this skin definitely has more of the holiday vibe players expect from these skins.
6. Conductor Reinhardt
On one hand, it’s always great to see Reinhardt receive a legendary winter skin. It is however a little disappointing that it wasn’t something Santa related. Conductor Reinhardt aims to bring the Polar Express to Overwatch, and it does succeed. Yelling “Choo-Choo” every time he goes for a charge is truly a legendary experience.
5. Ice Empress Moira
Talk about a skin that absolutely pops out at a player. Ice Empress Moira exudes a type of majesty and brilliance that only a mad-scientist can create. The newest Moira skin is leaps and bounds better than the previous winter event skin, and really adds a good holiday option for players who like to accessorize for the season. Expect to see plenty of Moira’s on the flank in the new winter skin.
4. Penguin Mei
The first skin teased by the Overwatch Twitter, Penguin Mei is one of her best skins to date. It’s goofy and memorable, and it really looks like a legendary unlike her other options. Though, the minute someone mentioned how the eyes on the Penguin look weird, the skin just haven’t looked the same. Regardless, this skin is an instant-buy to head into some Mei Snowball Fight matches.
3. Frosty Roadhog
Fear has a new face this holiday season, and its name is Frosty Roadhog. This horrifying skin joins the ranks of the scariest Frost-themed media in history – right behind Michael Keaton’s Jack Frost. It is a bit surprising to see this skin be only an epic, as it completely changes Roadhog’s face. Regardless, its easily a skin worth playing for and earning through the nine-week challenge.
2. Toybot Zenyatta
Look at that dang smile, absolutely adorable. The whole skin is just wonderful. The toy orbs, the batteries in the back, and the punch-tag on his back just add all sorts of little Easter eggs for those who remember the toy robots from yesteryear. Maybe it’s because players can finally see emotion on Zen’s face, but the light-brite laughing easily one of the best emotes out there.
1. Lumberjack Torbjorn
Though this may be an unexpected selection for Best Skin, Lumberjack Torbjorn just has it all. Nothing screams “Holiday Season” like putting on a sleeveless flannel and cutting down a tree. This Torbjorn skin brings back plenty of memories of the season, like trying to help Dad tie the tree to the top of the car, finding out it’s not tied tight enough, and then having to hold onto the tree for the entire ride back home. Good times.
