The Boston Uprising are making sure every base is covered for the unpredictable 2022 season. The Overwatch League’s most anticipated season to date will have players compete in Overwatch 2. Teams will now have to transition to a 5v5 format, learn a brand new game mode and navigate through several new maps. Boston made moves early in the offseason to bring on talent to ensure the team’s success in an uncertain environment, and now the team is making one more move to once again shore up their roster.

On Wednesday March 23, the Boston Uprising announced the addition of Chang-Hee “ITSAL” Kim for the 2022 season. ITSAL played with Uprising Academy through the second half of 2021, helping the team reach it’s highest placements in the org’s history. Before joining UA, ITSAL played under the GEN.G banner from 2019 to 2021, playing on it’s various developmental rosters.
Welcome @OWITSAL to the #BostonUprising
After a successful season with our academy team, we are promoting ITSAL to the main roster adding depth to our front line (pending league approval).

ITSAL joins the team alongside fellow UA call up Gi-hun “Victoria” Oh. The two Contenders stand outs look to make their mark on the Overwatch League alongside a team filled with veterans.
Because Overwatch 2 is moving towards a 5v5 structure, the tank position is now one of the most contested roles in the league. ITSAL will have to compete for the starting position against former Seoul Dynasty main tank Min-seo “Marve1” Hwang and Boston’s stand out off tank Leyton “Punk” Gilchrist.
The Uprising may use all three tanks depending on maps and heroes. This offseason it appears that Boston wanted to be extra prepared. With a May 5 starting date, fans still have a bit of a wait before they see which tank gets the most play time.
