NFL Draft Prospects in the 2024 Texas Bowl

Publish Date: December 25, 2024

The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. Bowl scheduling allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2024 Texas Bowl.

Baylor Bears Draft Prospects

Michael Trigg, TE

Trigg played his freshman season at USC, where he played a little bit. He transferred to Ole Miss for the 2022 and 2023 seasons, where he didn’t take a huge step forward. In 2024 at Baylor, he did produce more. He has 30 catches for 395 yards and three touchdowns.

At 6-foot-4 and 245 pounds, Trigg isn’t the biggest tight end and could fill out his frame a little more. He is a solid athlete, but hasn’t had the best production throughout his college career. A return to college could help his stock.

Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent

Monaray Baldwin, WR

Baldwin joined Baylor in 2021, but didn’t play much that season. He stared making an impact for the Bears on offense in 2022, and hasn’t looked back since. For the 2024 season, Baldwin has caught 23 passes for 399 yards and five touchdowns.

He is undersized for an NFL receiver at 5-foot-9 and 165 pounds. This limits his catch radius and his ability to beat physical coverage. His speed can help him make a roster, but special teams work will likely be necessary. A return to school could boost his stock.

Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent

Other Draft Prospects: QB Sawyer Robertson (UFA), RB Richard Reese (UFA), EDGE Garmon Randolph (UFA), OT Campbell Barrington (UFA)

LSU Tigers Draft Prospects

Bradyn Swinson, EDGE

Swinson started his college career at Oregon in 2020. After three seasons for the Ducks, with limited production, he transferred to LSU for 2023. He made just one start in 2023, but built on that in 2024. This season, he has 56 total tackles, 13 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks.

He has solid size for an NFL edge rusher at 6-foot-4 and 250 pounds. Swinson will have to answer questions on whether he is a one-year wonder, but he developed well over his time in college. His pass rushing this season has improved, which has boosted his stock.

Projected Draft Range: Third Round Pick-Fifth Round Pick

Zy Alexander, CB

Alexander started his college career at Southeastern Louisiana in 2021. He played there for two seasons, then transferred to LSU for the 2023 season. Alexander started immediately for the Tigers in 2023 before suffering a season-ending injury. In 2024, he has registered 29 total tackles, four passes defended and two interceptions.

At 6-foot-2 and 194 pounds, he has good height and length for the position. Filling out his frame would make him a more well-rounded cornerback. Alexander has done enough to get drafted, but if playing special teams could be the key to making a roster.

Projected Draft Range: Fourth Round Pick-Sixth Round Pick

*OT Will Campbell has opted out of this game. He is a projected first-round pick.

*OT Emery Jones has opted out of this bowl game. He is a projected first to third-round pick.

*LB Harold Perkins is injured and won’t play. He is a projected second to fourth-round pick.

*TE Mason Taylor has opted out of this bowl game. He is a projected mid-round pick.

Other Draft Prospects: EDGE Saivion Jones (4th-6th), IOL Miles Frazier (4th-6th), IOL Garrett Dellinger (4th-6th),WR Aaron Anderson (5th-7th), LB Greg Penn (6th-UFA), DL Parish Shand (6th-UFA), WR Zavion Thomas (UFA), WR Chris Hilton (UFA), S Jardin Gilbert (UFA), S Major Burns (UFA), RB Josh Williams (UFA)
