The Jaguars drafted Etienne with the 25th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. The pick came as a surprise after a breakout season by undrafted running back James Robinson. He was reunited with fellow Clemson Tiger, Trevor Lawrence after they were both selected by Jacksonville in the first round.
Along with Lawrence, Etienne won one CFP National Championship with Clemson in 2018. The team participated in the College Football Playoff in each of his seasons with the Tigers. He started the Jaguars’ camp as a wide receiver, rather than a running back, but suffered his injury as a half back.
