The Denver Broncos’ quarterback controversy has reportedly ended. The seven-year NFL veteran Teddy Bridgewater will be the Broncos’ starter for Week 1 of the 2021 season. Bridgewater has beaten out incumbent quarterback Drew Lock for the starting job.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the news via Twitter on Wednesday.

The former Louisville standout started 15 games for the Carolina Panthers in 2020, passing for 3,733 yards and 15 touchdowns to 11 interceptions on 69 percent completions. He also managed to rush for 279 yards and five touchdowns. Every stat listed above, save the interceptions, were career highs for Bridgewater.
He has gained more notoriety of late after his play in relief of Drew Brees in 2019 and his impressive streak with a bad roster in Carolina last season. Bridgewater was originally a draft pick of the Minnesota Vikings, but his career there was greatly impacted and shortened by injury.
Now, Bridgewater will serve as a bridge quarterback, unless he impresses and manages to make the playoffs on a much more talented Broncos roster.
