Free agent quarterback Taylor Heinicke will sign a two-year deal with the Atlanta Falcons according to NFL Network.
Heinicke, 30, has spent time with the Texans, Panthers and Commanders in his career. He was able to play a significant amount of time with the Commanders over the last three seasons and even started a playoff game. In his career, he has passed for 5,745 yards, 34 touchdowns and 24 interceptions on 63.9 percent completion.
The Falcons turned over the reins to the offense to Desmond Ridder at the end of last season. Heinicke will provide depth and mentorship behind him.
