Chicago continues their spending spree during this young 2023 free agency period. Former Seattle Seahawks running back and special teams player Travis Homer is signing with the Bears for two years, $4.5 million.
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.
Homer was a sixth round, 204th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks. His first career carry was on a fake punt, which resulted in a first down. He’s never played for any team except the one that drafted him.
In 10 games last season, Homer rushed just 19 times for 74 yards and no touchdowns. However, he added on 157 yards and a score on just 16 catches. He saw 50 percent of the Seahawks’ special teams snaps and 27 percent of their offensive snaps in 2022.
