The Eagles are still the lone undefeated team in the NFL. Philadelphia notched another win by beating the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night by a score of 26-17. This article will fully recap the Philadelphia Eagles’ week 6 game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Turnovers
Philadelphia played against a quarterback that hadn’t committed turnovers all year in Cooper Rush. He threw three interceptions in this game, which just says how good this Eagles’ defense is. C.J Gardner-Johnson had two interceptions and Darius Slay had the other. Gardner-Johnson did not have an interception in his first four games, now he has three on the season.  He recorded his first interception last week against the Cardinals. Slay recorded his third interception of the season on Sunday night. The Eagle’s secondary is a huge difference maker for the Eagles and will continue to be as the season rolls on.
The Eagles were solid on the ground
The Eagle’s rushing attack was as good as usual. Miles Sanders recorded 71 rushing yards and one touchdown on Sunday night. He continues to be one of the best running backs in the NFL. Philadelphia also incorporated Kenneth Gainwell nicely in this game. He had five carries for 25 yards. As for Jalen Hurts, he really was not as much of a factor on the ground as one would have thought. He had 27 yards and averaged around three yards a run. In total, the Eagles had 136 yards overall on the ground on Sunday night.
The Eagles would not be undefeated if it was not for their running attack. It really sets up the passing attack nicely, now that the Eagles have receivers. It makes defenses have to worry equally about both running and passing.
Passing Attack
Jalen Hurts had a solid game. He had 155 passing yards and two touchdowns. The first touchdown pass was a play-action pass where Hurts rolled out right and threw a short pass to A.J. Brown. Brown would then break a few tackles and score the touchdown. His second touchdown was another play-action pass where Jalen Hurts rolled out to his right to find a wide-open DeVonta Smith in the endzone. After that play, a frustrated Trevon Diggs slammed his helmet on the ground and was called for unsportsmanlike conduct, which added insult to injury for the Cowboys. However, it is easy to see why he was frustrated, the Cowboys were close to making a comeback. They were down by 20 points and brought it down to a three-point game. This touchdown would extend the Eagles’ lead to a nine-point deficit for the Cowboys mid-way in the fourth quarter.
Overall, the Eagles performed well in front of the home crowd on prime-time television. The Eagles will have a bye week next weekend before their game against the Steelers on October 30. This concludes this Philadelphia Eagles Week 6 recap.
