The Philadelphia Eagles plan to release cornerback Darius Slay before the free agency window officially opens. Adam Schefter reported the news.
Slay, 32, played for the Eagles for three seasons and helped lead them to the Super Bowl last season. He has also played for the Lions in his career.
In his career, Slay has made five Pro Bowls and one All-Pro team. He has 26 interceptions and 133 passes defended in his career. Last season, he had three interceptions on 14 passes defended.
The Eagles have now lost several players from their NFC Championship-winning defense including: Slay, Javon Hargrave, Kyzir White, T.J. Edwards and Marcus Epps.
