The NFL Wild Card Round is here. Picking NFL games straight up is hard enough, but picking against the spread is even tougher. Here are the NFL Wild Card Round picks against the spread. (Spreads are from Tallysight as of Tuesday morning)
Last week:Â 7-9
Season: 147-117-8
Saturday Games
Cleveland Browns (-2.5) at Houston Texans
The Texans have made the playoffs after being led by their rookies. C.J. Stroud has been phenomenal and DeMeco Ryans will have the defense ready to play. Both teams have several key injuries, but Stroud can make good plays and make it difficult for the Browns to keep up.
Pick: Texans
Miami Dolphins at Kansas City Chiefs (-3.5)
Kansas City was playing questionably before they sat plenty of players in week 18. It is hard to see them finding their grove in the playoffs. Miami lost down the stretch, but should be getting a few key players back for the playoffs, like Jaylen Waddle to help them get the win.
Pick: Dolphins
Sunday Games
Pittsburgh Steelers at Buffalo Bills (-9.5)
The Bills fought their way to the second seed in the AFC. They will likely win this game by utilizing Josh Allen’s running ability and his tendency to make plays outside the pocket. The Steelers can keep it close though, as inserting Mason Rudolph into the starting lineup has rejuvenated the offense. They should be able to run the ball decently enough to open up the pass.
Pick: Steelers
Green Bay Packers at Dallas Cowboys (-7.5)
Dallas has proven to be a different team at home this season than on the road. With the two seed in the NFC, they will get two home playoff games if they win this week. The Packers have had a fantastic season with Jordan Love exceeding expectations. Unfortunately, they won’t be able to keep up with the Cowboys.
Pick: Cowboys
Los Angeles Rams at Detroit Lions (-3)
The Lions will be hyped up for this game after the Rams traded them Jared Goff. They have the offensive line to protect Goff and he can utilize the Lions’ playmakers to make it tough for the Rams to keep up. Matthew Stafford can put up some points against a struggling Lions’ defense, but could struggle to keep up with the Lions who run the ball well.
Pick: Lions
Monday Night Game
Philadelphia Eagles (-2.5) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Eagles proved again in week 18 that they are not a good football team right now. To make matters worse, several key players suffered injuries against the Giants, including Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown. Tampa Bay is a streaky team and they can generate big plays against the Eagles’ secondary.
Pick: Buccaneers
