Thomas has not been fully healthy since tearing his Achilles, which motivated the Patriots to make the move. The 31-year-old has 688 receptions for 9,330 yards and 62 touchdowns in his career. Last season he had 59 catches for 677 yards and five touchdowns in time with the Broncos and Texans before tearing his Achilles.
With Josh Gordon reinstated, the Patriots have a few quality receivers, including rookie N’Keal Harry. They figure to have enough talent at wide receiver to compete for another Super Bowl.
