The Minnesota Vikings have cut quarterback Kellen Mond according to Ari Meirov. He was a third-round draft pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Mond went 2/3 for five passing yards in his rookie season. The Vikings made a change at head coach, which likely played a part in the team releasing him just a year after drafting him.
Behind Kirk Cousins, the Vikings still have Nick Mullens, who was just acquired in a trade, and Sean Mannion. Mullens is the more experienced backup of the two with 4,861 career passing yards.
