The Miami Dolphins are preparing to take on the New York Jets on Sunday. The Dolphins are lucky, as a lot of the games on Sunday are getting rescheduled because of the most recent COVID 19 outbreak in the NFL. The Dolphins do have some cases, which will be talked about later. Miami also claimed a linebacker off waivers that has played for them in the past. Lastly, there is one player that has all the skills to step up at wide receiver since Waddle has a good possibility of being out due to COVID 19. This is the Miami Dolphins’ Week 15 News Splash.
The Dolphins Reserve/COVID 19 list
The Dolphins got some good new yesterday as Myles Gaskin and Salvon Ahmed are officially off the Reserve/ Covid 19 list. Miami would have been very thin at running back, if they would have had to miss this game against the Jets. Jaylen Waddle was one of the biggest players recently to make this list. He will more than likely be out against New York.
As for the Defensive side of the ball, Jevon Holland is also out due to a positive Covid 19 test. This is big for the Dolphins as Holland has had a fantastic season and has sparked this Dolphins defense. He has 35 tackles on the season and two interceptions. Holland is also very good in coverage as he has nine pass deflections. It will be next man up for the Dolphins on Sunday. It will be interesting to see how the Dolphins respond to unforeseen events.
Dolphins claim Calvin Munson off waivers
The Miami Dolphins added Calvin Munson off waivers from the New England Patriots. Munson was actually on the Dolphins in October, but the Patriots signed him off the practice squad that month. Munson had been on the Dolphins for two years before the Patriots signed him. He has 60 tackles during his NFL career and has mostly played on special teams.
Before the NFL, Munson played ball at San Diego State where he was a beast. During his four years as an Aztec he compiled 301 tackles, 18 sacks and seven interceptions. Munson could possibly get playing time this season if more people on defense get added to the Reserve/ COVID 19 list.
Receiver that could step up in the absence of Waddle
Jaylen Waddle being out for this game is a big deal, since he has been one of the best players on their offense. Luckily for the Dolphins, this will more than likely be only for one game. The one guy that could step up in this game at receiver in place of Waddle is Mack Hollins. He is a big receiver that is built like a tight end, as he is 6’4 and weighs 221 pounds. Hollins also has speed and the ability to break tackles with his big frame. He has already made explosive plays for the Dolphins this year, including a 65-yard touchdown pass.

Mack Hollins has not gotten a lot of playing time, but when he does get a chance, he makes the most of it. He has 183 yards and four touchdowns on the season. It will be interesting to see if he can help the Dolphins receiving core during this game against the Jets. This concludes this Miami Dolphins’ Week 15 News Splash.
