The Madden 22 ratings have finally been unveiled. As always, there are some questionable ratings for players on every single team. In this series, TGH writers will give their opinions on the most overrated and underrated players on each roster. Here are the players on the Dallas Cowboys that have been the most UNDERRATED by Madden 22.
DeMarcus Lawrence
DeMarcus Lawrence has been one of Dallas’ best pieces on the defensive side of the ball for many years. In the past four seasons, “Tank” has sacked the quarterback 36.5 times, forced 12 fumbles and has had 75 quarterback hits. The former Boise State star has been elite with the Cowboys. However, Madden only gave the 29-year-old star an 87 overall in the game.
Lawrence’s 87 overall places him as the seventh-best left defensive end in the league tied with Carolina ‘Panthers’ defensive end, Brian Burns. The two-time Pro Bowler has been a difference-maker for the Cowboys on defense the past couple of seasons. As a result, the rating that Madden placed on him is just a little too low.
Madden 22 Rating: 87
Adjusted Rating: 88 (+1)
Micah Parsons
Micah Parsons could be widely considered as one of the best defensive players to come out of the 2021 NFL Draft. Yet, his rating doesn’t match that. The former Penn State star comes into the game with a 75 overall which seems to be too low. Yes, Madden always gives rookie players a very low rating to start the game. However, placing him as the 20th best right outside linebacker in the game is likely too low for this “generational talent.”
The former Penn State linebacker was the 12th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, and the third defensive player taken off the board. Nonetheless, Madden gave players like cornerback Greg Newsome (76), running back Travis Etienne (76), cornerback Caleb Farley (75) and wide receiver Devonta Smith (75) similar overalls to Parsons. However, these players were drafted much later than him. The initial rating that Madden gave the 22-year old seems to be too low.
Madden rating: 75
Adjusted Rating: 77 (+2)
Trevon Diggs
The second-year starter from Alabama, cornerback Trevon Diggs ranks too low in Madden 22. In the game, the 22-year-old has a 72 overall and is ranked as the 89th best corner. This rating seems to be by far the worst rating given to a Cowboys player this season.
Although Diggs wasn’t anywhere near a top cornerback in the league, he did lead the team in interceptions. Rookie cornerback, Asante Samuel Jr, drafted in the second round ranks the same as him. Additionally, he is ranked as the fourth-best cornerback on the team in Madden. Hopefully, he can take his game to the next level in 2021. However, Diggs should not be this low to start the 2021 season.
Madden 22 rating: 72
Adjusted rating: 75 (+3)
