The Game Haus will be analyzing the player ratings from Madden 20 of every NFL team. Madden has a daunting task of rating all NFL players and their attributes. While they have the ability to correct some of these rankings with in-season roster updates, there are some issues with some of the initial rankings of players. Here are the Madden 20 questionable ratings: Cincinnati Bengals.
A.J. Green- 90
Madden seems to take some injuries into account, but not others (Tyler Eifert is up next). Green has been banged up over the last three seasons, but still had 46 receptions for 694 yards and six touchdowns last year. If he would have played all 16 games, he would’ve had over 1,200 yards.
Green would’ve had more receiving yards than Stefon Diggs, if his stats were extrapolated over a full season. Diggs finished with 1,021 yards and was given a 93 rating. Green deserves to be rated at least that.
Adjusted Rating- 93
Tyler Eifert- 88
One of the most surprising ratings in Madden 20 is Tyler Eifert’s, who was given an 88. Eifert hasn’t played a full season since 2015 as he has had to recover from injuries. Since 2015, Eifert has played 14 games with 48 receptions for 619 yards and six touchdowns. His injuries have held him back, but Eifert should be rated a little bit less than an 88.
Despite not playing a lot since 2015, Eifert is tied for the sixth-best tight end in the game. Players like Kyle Rudolph, Eric Ebron and Hunter Henry are all rated lower, despite putting up better seasons over the last three seasons. Eifert should be given credit for how good he is, but the other tight ends deserve to be rated a few points higher.
Adjusted Rating- 81
Carlos Dunlap- 82
Dunlap didn’t have his best season in 2018, but still had eight sacks. In all reality, none of the edge rushers on the Bengals had their best seasons. His eight sacks last season were still impressive though and Dunlap needs a rating to reflect that.
Everson Griffen had 5.5 sacks in 11 games for the Vikings last season, which would average out to eight sacks over 16 games. He is rated at an 85 by Madden, while Dunlap is rated at an 82, which doesn’t make much sense.
Adjusted Rating- 85
Billy Price- 71
The Bengals’ first-round pick from 2018 had an injury-plagued first season, but Billy Price was able to play in 10 games. He played well at times, but was a little inconsistent, which is why Madden rated him as a 71 for this year’s game.
Garrett Bradbury is a rookie that was selected in the 18th pick this year by the Vikings. Even though he has some experience under his belt, Price is a 71, while Bradbury was given a rating of 73. Price at least should be rated as high as Bradbury, if not higher.
Adjusted Rating- 73
