While Zach Wilson has been injured, Mike White had been starting in his place. White has passed for 953 yards, five touchdowns and eight interceptions on 66.7 percent completion in place of Wilson. After a poor performance against Buffalo, when he threw four interceptions, he is being pulled for Flacco.
Flacco, 36, was with the Jets last season, but was reacquired this year when Wilson went down with his injury. In relief of White against Buffalo, he passed for 47 yards on three completions and had a touchdown pass.
In his career, Flacco has won a Super Bowl with the Baltimore Ravens. He has also passed for 40,978 yards, 225 touchdowns and 144 interceptions on 61.7 percent completion.
Wilson is set to return soon from his PCL injury and is assumed to reclaim the starting job when he does.
