Sherwood had 14 total tackles this season in five games played. The rookie was a safety in college and was making the transition to linebacker this season.
The Jets are dealing with several injuries now, including to their starting quarterback Zach Wilson. Things will be tough for the one-win Jets, who are preparing to play Cincinnati in week 8.
