49ers wide receiver Jalen Hurd has a torn ACL, as confirmed by an MRI that took place on Tuesday. Prior to the MRI, the knee injury was already feared to be major.
The NFL’s Mike Garofolo reported the news via Twitter on Monday morning.
#49ers WR Jalen Hurd is undergoing an MRI this morning after suffering what’s believed to be a major knee injury in practice yesterday, sources tell me and @RapSheet. The fear is the test will reveal a torn ACL. Test will tell full story.

Hurd was drafted in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Last season, he suffered a back injury in October which kept him out of the entire 2019 season. San Francisco reached the Super Bowl without his services.
Hurd will miss the entire 2020 season as well. He has never played a game in a 49ers uniform, and may not until fall of 2021.
