The New England Patriots are reportedly re-signing a highly drafted defensive back in this young 2023 NFL free agency period. Jabrill Peppers, who was a first round pick in 2017, is signing a two-year deal for a yet-unknown amount of money.
ESPN’s Jabrill Peppers reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.
Peppers was drafted in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns, but lasted only two seasons there before becoming a member of the Giants. His stint there also lasted only two years, but was signed to a one-year deal by the Patriots in 2022.
Despite playing in all 17 games last season, Peppers started in just five of them. He racked up 60 combined tackles with no other stats of note apart from one fumble recovery. He hasn’t recorded an interception since the 2020 season.
