The Cleveland Browns are signing quarterback Kyle Lauletta. He is being signed as an emergency backup due to Baker Mayfield and Case Keenum being placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list. The only other quarterback on the roster is Nick Mullens.
WEWS’s Camryn Justice reported the news via Twitter on Friday.

Lauletta has bounced around the league since being drafted in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the New York GIants. After his one year there, he spent time with the Eagles, Falcons Browns and Jaguars. This will be his second stint with the Browns. He previously spent October of 2020 to January of 2021 on Cleveland’s practice squad.
The extent of Lauletta’s in-game experience is five passing attempts for zero completions, zero yards and one interception. Nick Mullens, who is likely to start, had an up and down career with San Francisco. Mullens has been forced into 17 starts due to Jimmy Garappolo’s inability to stay healthy. He has a total of 25 touchdowns to 22 interceptions in his NFL stint.
