1. Emery Jones, OT, LSU Tigers
LSU lost big to Alabama. There is blame that could go just about everywhere, but the talented offensive line made some critical mistakes themselves. That included Emery Jones, who had some nice plays, but also had some costly moments as well, as he was called for a penalty.
Jones did show some nice run blocking which sprung a big rush for the Tigers. It wasn’t his best game, but his good run-blocking should help him. He still may be a better fit at guard at the next level. While this wasn’t his best game, he could still be a late first-round pick or a second-round pick.
2. Parker Brailsford, IOL, Alabama Crimson Tide
Alabama came up big with a win at LSU this week to put them in a good spot to make the CFP. Their offense was on fire, which featured a lot of quarterback runs. Center Parker Brailsford had a solid game, despite one bad snap that hit his leg.
Brailsford played well and although he is an undersized center, he plays the position intelligently. He moves well and can get to the second level on running plays well. His size may limit his draft stock, but he should still be one of the first interior offensive linemen selected in the 2025 NFL Draft.
3. Jalon Walker, LB, Georgia Bulldogs
Georgia suffered a tough loss against Ole Miss on the road. They are still in play to make the CFP, but have some work to do. The offense stalled out and the defense did what they could give the circumstance. Jalon Walker had a good game with four tackles.
Walker was able to show his explosive athleticism as he was able to make plays behind the line of scrimmage. He has gotten good pressure this season, which makes it even more curious to figure out if he is going to play linebacker or edge at the next level. Walker looks the part of a first-round pick.
4. Walter Nolen, DL, Ole Miss Rebels
Ole Miss notched a big win over Georgia this week that puts them in the thick of the CFP race. Their defense really stepped up to make it happen, as they held Georgia to 10 points. While his impact didn’t show up in a big way on the box score, Nolen had a great game on the interior.
In this game, Nolen was able to show his great movement for his size. He was able to attack gaps well in this game and wreak havoc. His play allowed others to make plays around him. His athleticism and tape could have him end up as a first-round pick, even if the production isn’t the greatest.
5. Antwaun Powell-Ryland, EDGE, Virginia Tech Hokies
Virginia Tech lost to Clemson this week to continue their decent season. Their defense played well holding Clemson to 24 points despite their own offense having issues moving the ball. Powell-Ryland had another game that will help his NFL Draft stock. He finished with three total tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack.
Powell-Ryland’s sack production has been great this season, which has moved him up draft boards. His pass rushing has been great, but he can still improve his strength and run defense to help his stock. If he finishes the season strong, he could end up being a early draft pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
