While the 2021 NFL Draft is still far off in the distance, players that will be drafted early are on the field now. Each week presents unique matchups for draft prospects and this week is no different. Here are NFL Draft prospects to watch in college football week 10.
1. Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, LB, Notre Dame Fighting Irish
The Fighting Irish have their biggest game of the season, as they prepare to take on Clemson. With Trevor Lawrence out for this game, the Fighting Irish defense needs to step up and force D.J. Uiagalelei to make mistakes. The leader of the defense is Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, who will need to have a big game for Notre Dame to pick up the victory.
Owusu-Koramoah has 26 total tackles on the season with six coming for a loss. He also has a sack and a forced fumble. While he hasn’t played up to his potential yet this season, Owusu-Koramoah has a lot of talent and can really help get his stock up with a good game against Clemson.
2. Jackson Carman, OT, Clemson Tigers
With an inexperienced quarterback playing in a big game, the Tigers have to make sure they protect him. Jackson Carman will specifically need to play well for Clemson at left tackle. If he can protect Uiagalelei’s blindside, the Tigers should be able to move the ball against Notre Dame.
Carman is one of the many talented tackles in the 2021 NFL Draft. He struggled against Boston College last week and gave up a sack. There is still time for him to play his way up draft boards, but he needs to have a good game against Notre Dame.
3. Kyle Trask, QB, Florida Gators
In the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party, there will be a battle between Florida’s offense and Georgia’s defense. If Florida wants to win the game and compete in the SEC Championship Game, they need to put some points on the board. That all starts with quarterback Kyle Trask.
Trask has played well this season and his worked his way into the conversation to be selected as early as day two of the 2021 NFL Draft. This game is specifically so important to him because of how talented Georgia’s defense is. If Trask can play well against Georgia, it will only mean good things for his draft stock.
4. Tyson Campbell, CB, Georgia Bulldogs
The Bulldogs defense will need to be ready to play against Florida. That is especially true because they will likely be without safety Richard LeCounte, who was injured in a motorcycle accident. Other players in the secondary will need to step up in his absence. Eric Stokes and Tyson Campbell will have to continue to play great football at the corner position if they want to win this game.
While Campbell got most of the offseason hype, Stokes has recently received more attention from NFL Draft buffs. Both are talented and Stokes has already been highlighted in these articles. Campbell still has a chance to be drafted early in the 2021 NFL Draft, but it starts with a good game in this one.
5. Kwity Paye, Edge, Michigan Wolverines
Michigan is coming off of a loss to Michigan State and will want to get back on track against Indiana. That will require keeping quarterback Michael Penix pressured and contained. The Wolverines have a few good defensive linemen who will aid in this, but Kwity Paye will specifically need to play well.
So far this season, Paye has three tackles for loss and two sacks in Michigan’s two games. After having 6.5 sacks in 2019, Paye has made a name for himself. There is still a long way to go if he wants to be selected early in the 2021 NFL Draft, but a good game against Indiana will help him and his team out.
