The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. Bowl scheduling allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2021 Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl.
Utah State Aggies Draft Prospects
Logan Bonner, QB
Bonner started his career at Arkansas State before transferring to Utah State. He has passed for 6,720 yards, 66 touchdowns and 20 interceptions on 59.5 percent completion across his time at both schools. For the 2021 season, he has passed for 3,554 yards, 36 touchdowns and 11 interceptions on 61.2 percent completion.
He stands at 6-foot-1 and 230 pounds, which doesn’t give him the best measurables. Bonner has had a great year to put him on the NFL’s radar, but he could elect to return to Utah State for another season to help improve his stock. If he does declare, he is an expected undrafted free agent.
Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
Deven Thompkins, WR
After being at Utah State for four seasons, Thompkins has really burst onto the scene. For his career, he has 165 receptions for 2,404 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns. In the 2021 season, he has 96 receptions for 1,589 yards and nine touchdowns, which has helped him get more recognition.
At 5-foot-8 and 155 pounds, Thompkins is a smaller receiver that will likely fit in as a slot receiver at the next level. He could be invited to camps based on his production this season. If he plays well he may be able to make a roster. Thompkins is a projected undrafted free agent.
Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
Oregon State Beavers Draft Prospects
Avery Roberts, LB
Roberts started his career at Nebraska before transferring to Oregon State. He has spent three seasons there after his one with the Cornhuskers. Over his college career, Roberts has 280 total tackles, 19 tackles for loss and five sacks. This season, he has really been productive with 123 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks.
At 6-foot-1 and 234 pounds, Roberts has decent size for a linebacker. He has proven to be able to stop the run, but could cover NFL-level athletes better. If he does decide to enter his name into the draft, he will likely be an undrafted free agent.
Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
Omar Speights, LB
The first three seasons of his college career has gotten off to a great start. He has 212 total tackles, 16 tackles for loss and five sacks in his career. This season, Speights has registered 78 total tackles, 4.0 tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks.
Speights has solid size for a linebacker at 6-foot-1 and 237 pounds. He is still just a sophomore, so he will likely return back to school to hone his craft. If he does enter the 2022 NFL Draft, he will likely be an undrafted free agent.
Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
