The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. Bowl scheduling allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2020 Cure Bowl.
Coastal Carolina Chanticleers Draft Prospects
C.J. Marable, RB
C.J. Marable has been one of the more versatile running backs in college football for the Chanticleers after transferring in from Arkansas State. He has 2,648 rushing yards, 695 receiving yards and 41 total touchdowns. This season, Marable has 844 rushing yards, 220 receiving yards and 19 total touchdowns.
Marable is 5-foot-10, 200 pounds, which is good enough size for the NFL level. It will be interesting to see if Marable decides to go pro or if he chooses to go back to Coastal Carolina. He is a projected late round pick or undrafted free agent.
Projected Draft Range: Sixth Round Pick-Undrafted Free Agent
C.J. Brewer, DT
In the middle of the defensive line, the Chanticleers have a star in C.J. Brewer. In his career, he has 174 tackles, 20.5 tackles for loss and 12 sacks. For the 2020 season, Brewer has 57 total tackles, nine tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks.
He isn’t the biggest defensive tackle in the class at 6-foot-2, 280 pounds, but he can add weight at the next level. Brewer’s pass rushing production in 2020 is intriguing. He will likely be a late-round pick or undrafted free agent in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Projected Draft Range: Sixth Round Pick-Undrafted Free Agent
Other Draft Prospects
OG Jack Franklin (UFA), DE Tarron Jackson (UFA), LB Myles Olufemi (UFA), LB Teddy Gallagher (UFA), LB Silas Kelly (UFA)
Liberty Flames Draft Prospects
Malik Willis, QB
One of the main reasons Liberty was able to have such a successful season was quarterback Malik Willis. The Auburn transfer has passed for 2,109 yards, rushed for 1,116 yards and scored 33 total touchdowns in his career. This season, he has passed for 2,040 yards, 20 touchdowns and four interceptions on 64 percent passing.
Willis will not have prototypical size for an NFL prospect at 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds. He does have good mobility and has proven to be a star at the college level. Willis is just a junior and may elect to stay in college for another year.
Projected Draft Range: Seventh Round Pick-Undrafted Free Agent
Joshua Mack, RB
The leading rusher for the Flames over the last two seasons is Joshua Mack. He has rushed for 1,484 yards, has 173 receiving yards and has 11 total touchdowns in his career. In 2020, he has 692 rushing yards and four touchdowns.
Mack has decent size at 6-foot and 195 pounds. While he didn’t put up astounding numbers, he did average 5.5 yards per carry. The senior will likely need to prove that he can make a bigger impact in the receiving game to be a true every down back. He should get an invite to camp with a chance to make a roster.
Projected Draft Range: Sixth Round Pick-Undrafted Free Agent
Other Draft Prospects
CB Jimmy Faulks (UFA), TE Johnny Huntley (UFA), OL Bryce Mathews (UFA), NT Ralfs Rusins (UFA), WR D.J. Stubbs (UFA)
