The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. Bowl scheduling allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2024 Independence Bowl.
Louisiana Tech Bulldogs Draft Prospects
Tru Edwards, WR
Edwards started his college career at Navarro College of the JUCO level. He then went to Hawaii for one season before moving on to Louisiana Tech in 2022. After not playing much in 2022, he played a little more in 2023. Edwards really broke out in 2024 with 76 catches for 894 yards and six touchdowns.
He has solid size at 6-foot-3 and 201 pounds, although he could fill out his frame a little bit more. Edwards was a late bloomer, as the only time he produced in a large way was this season. He will likely need to have success on special teams to make an NFL roster.
Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
David Blay, DL
Blay started his college career at D-II level West Chester. He spent two seasons at West Chester and then transferred to Louisiana Tech in 2023. He played a little bit in 2023, but really stepped up in 2024. This season, Blay has 45 total tackles and six sacks.
At 6-foot-4 and 303 pounds, Blay has solid size for the interior of a defensive line. His sack production could really help his value in NFL evaluators’ eyes. He is still a junior and could return to school to help build up his stock.
Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
Army Black Knights Draft Prospects
Noah Short, RB
Short joined Army in 2022 as a defensive player and made an impact on special teams. He then moved to offense in 2023 and was primarily a receiver. This season, he played running back. In 2024, Short has registered 542 rushing yards, 318 receiving yards and five total touchdowns.
At 6-foot and 182 pounds, Short is undersized for an NFL running back. He can fill out his frame to help with that. His versatility is intriguing, but he is still a junior so a return to school could really help his draft stock.
Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
Bryson Daily, QB
Daily joined Army in 2021 and played in one game. He played a bit more in 2022 before becoming a starter in 2023. Daily played well in 2023 and then improved in 2024. In 2024, he has totaled 1,532 rushing yards, 942 passing yards and 38 total touchdowns.
At 6-foot and 220 pounds, Daily doesn’t have the typical build of an NFL quarterback. He will likely need to change positions to make an NFL roster. Helping out on special teams will also help his chances, but he likely won’t be drafted.
Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
