The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. Bowl scheduling allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2024 Holiday Bowl.
Syracuse Orange Draft Prospects
Oronde Gadsden II, TE
Gadsden joined Syracuse in 2021 and played sparingly. He took a huge jump in 2022 as a wide receiver. In 2023, he made the move to tight end, but was injured early in the season. In 2024, his first full season at tight end, Gadsden registered 69 catches for 860 yards and five touchdowns.
At 6-foot-5 and 236 pounds, Gadsden needs to continue to fill out his frame if he wants to be a versatile tight end. Right now he is more of a bigger receiver or a tight end that can split off from the line of scrimmage. His athleticism makes him tough to match up with though.
Projected Draft Range: Fourth Round Pick-Sixth Round Pick
Fadil Diggs, EDGE
Diggs started his career at Texas A&M, where he spent four seasons. He didn’t make much of an impact in his first two seasons, but was a solid playe over his last two for the Aggies. In his one season at Syracuse, Diggs tallied 14 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks.
At 6-foot-5 and 261 pounds, Diggs has solid size for an NFL edge rusher. His relative lack of production at Texas A&M hurts, but his big season at Syracuse helps his stock immensely. Diggs is a candidate to be picked in the middle or late rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Projected Draft Range: Fourth Round Pick-Sixth Round Pick
Other Draft Prospects: QB Kyle McCord (5th-7th), S Alijah Clark (6th-UFA), WR Justus Ross-Simmons (UFA), CB Duce Chestnut (UFA), LB Marlowe Wax (UFA), S Justin Barron (UFA), CB Clarence Lewis (UFA)
Washington State Cougars Draft Prospects
Kyle Williams, WR
Williams went to UNLV for the first three seasons of his college career. He produced a decent amount at UNLV, but then transferred to Washington State in 2023. His production blossomed in both seasons at the school. In 2024, Williams had 60 receptions for 1,026 yards and 13 touchdowns.
At 6-foot and 186 pounds, Williams is a little undersized for the position and will need to fill out his frame. His great production at Washington State should get him some looks in the NFL. He could be a late-round pick.
Projected Draft Range: Sixth Round Pick-Undrafted Free Agent
Kris Hutson, WR
Hutson started his career at Oregon, where he spent four seasons. He was productive in 2021 and 2022. After only playing five games in 2023, he transferred to Washington State for the 2024 season. He caught 54 passes for 683 yards and two touchdowns.
At 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds, Hutson is also undersized for the position. He has produced, but with his size, he may be best off playing the slot at the NFL level. Hutson has a chance to make a roster because he does have return experience.
Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
