The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. Bowl scheduling allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2022 Peach Bowl.
Ohio State Buckeyes Draft Prospects
C.J. Stroud, QB
Stroud has been with Ohio State for three seasons, but has been the starting quarterback for the last two. He has 7,775 passing yards, 81 touchdowns and 12 interceptions on 69.3 percent completion for his career. This season, Stroud has 3,340 passing yards, 37 touchdowns and six interceptions on 66.2 percent completion.
At 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds, Stroud has solid size for an NFL quarterback. He shows poise and is very accurate all over the field. Stroud won’t create yardage for himself as a runner, as he is more of a pocket passer. His ability to make tough throws will help his draft stock.
Projected Draft Range: Top 10 Pick
Paris Johnson, OT
Johnson joined Ohio State as a highly-touted recruit. After getting a little playing time as a freshman, he was plugged in at guard for the 2021 season where he was a Second Team All-Big Ten selection. He moved to left tackle this season and was a First Team All-Big Ten selection.
His size won’t be a problem, as he stands 6-foot-6 and 310 pounds. Johnson didn’t have the best tape at guard and was a much more natural fit at left tackle, where his athleticism was able to shine. He won’t be the most experienced tackle in the class, but should be picked early.
Projected Draft Range: First Round Pick
*WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba is out for this game with a hamstring injury. He is a projected first or second-round pick.
Other Draft Prospects: OT Dawand Jones (2-4), EDGE Zach Harrison (2-4), OG/C Luke Wypler (3-5), S Ronnie Hickman (3-5), S Lathan Ransom (4-6), LB Tommy Eichenberg (5-7), RB Miyan Williams (5-7), WR Julian Flemming (5-7), OG/C Matthew Jones (5-7), DL Taron Vincent (6-ufa), LB Cody Simon (UFA), CB Cameron Brown (UFA), DL Jerron Cox (UFA), K Noah Ruggles (UFA)
Georgia Bulldogs Draft Prospects
Jalen Carter, DL
Carter has been a Bulldog for three seasons and has really been disruptive for them over the last two seasons. He has 80 total tackles, 18.5 tackles for loss and six sacks in his career. For the 2022 season, Carter tallied 29 total tackles, seven tackles for loss and three sacks.
At 6-foot-3 and 310 pounds, Carter will look right in place along an NFL defensive line. He has great athleticism for his size and can mess up entire plays, even if he isn’t the one making the tackle. While he doesn’t have the greatest sack production, the tape shows just how talented of a player he is for the Bulldogs.
Projected Draft Range: Top 10 Pick
Kelee Ringo, CB
Ringo has been with Georgia for three seasons and been an impact player for the last two. He has 70 total tackles, four interceptions and 14 passes defended in his career. This season, Ringo has 36 total tackles, two interceptions and six passes defended.
He stands at 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds, which gives him good height for an NFL cornerback. Ringo has been a shutdown corner this season, displaying his solid athleticism. He needs to continue to work on his technique to improve.
Projected Draft Range: First Round Pick
*EDGE Nolan Smith is out for this game with a pectoral injury. He is a projected day two pick.
Other Draft Prospects: OT Broderick Jones (1-2), S Chris Smith (2-3), TE Darnell Washington (2-3), S Tykee Smith (3-5), OG/C Sedrick Van Pran (3-5), OT Warren McClendon (4-6), RB Kenny McIntosh (5-7), QB Stetson Bennett (6-UFA), TE Arik Gilbert (6-UFA), EDGE Robert Beal (UFA), WR Kearis Jackson (UFA), LB MJ Sherman (UFA), RB Kendall Milton (UFA)
