Gallimore is one of the few Canadians in the 2020 NFL Draft. After heading south to Oklahoma as a four-star recruit, he steadily improved every year on campus to put himself in position to be selected in the 2020 NFL Draft.

In 2015, Gallimore’s first year on campus, he redshirted. As a redshirt freshman, he had four tackles for loss and one sack. The Sooners won 11 games, including the Sugar Bowl that season. In his sophomore season, Gallimore totaled 1.5 tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks. His play helped Oklahoma reach the College Football Playoff that season and the following two after that. Gallimore had five tackles for loss and three sacks as a junior. For his final college season, Gallimore racked up 6.5 tackles for loss and four sacks.

The Canadian has built up a solid college resume over the past four seasons. In doing so, his draft stock has risen and he is currently projected to be taken before day two of the 2020 NFL Draft is over.

Strengths

Gallimore gets great burst at the line of scrimmage. He gets off the line quickly, which gives him an edge for the rest of the play. His ability to watch the ball and jump right after the snap count is among the best in the class. This will set him up well to be disruptive at the next play.

His pass-rushing ability is very impressive for a defensive tackle. He has a variety of pass-rushing moves and can push offensive linemen back with a bull rush. Gallimore can get through multiple blockers in one play to push the pocket. He won’t always get to the quarterback to make the play, but his ability to take up multiple blockers and still generate pressure is unique.

He has a great motor, which helps him excel. Gallimore doesn’t take plays off, as he seems to give maximum effort all the time. He keeps working even if the play lasts a few extra seconds and is no stranger to running ball carriers down.

Weaknesses

His lack of length will make life harder for him in the NFL. He was able to deal with it well in college, but in the pros, offensive linemen have longer reaches. If they can get their arms extended on him, it will make it harder for him to pressure quarterbacks.

Gallimore plays with too high of a pad level. He fails to convert his initial burst into power at times because he stands too straight up. If Gallimore can learn to keep his pad level low, he will be an even more effective player.

He has some struggles in stopping the run. His ability to take on multiple blockers helps the running game, but he won’t make very many plays. When he is aggressive and offensive linemen are back-pedaling as pass blockers, he does well. In the running game though, he can be pushed back because blockers are coming at him.
