The 2023 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Jahmyr Gibbs 2023 NFL Draft Profile.

Gibbs played at two different schools during his college career, showing off his talents at both places. He is now entering the 2023 NFL Draft.
As a recruit, Gibbs was a four-star who decided to stay in his home state to play for Georgia Tech. In his first season with the Yellow Jackets, Gibbs rushed for 460 yards and had 303 receiving yards, which led to seven total touchdowns. His production increased in 2021, as he had 746 rushing yards, 465 receiving yards and six total touchdowns. The Yellow Jackets won just three games despite Gibbs playing well. He decided to transfer to Alabama for the 2022 season. Gibbs totaled 926 rushing yards, 444 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. His play helped Alabama win 11 games including the Sugar Bowl.
After the season, Gibbs declared for the 2023 NFL Draft. He is currently projected to be a first or second-round pick.
Jahmyr Gibbs Strengths
His speed and acceleration can be game-changing. Gibbs is a former track athlete and that shows up on the field. Once a hole opens, Gibbs can hit his top speed very quickly to help generate extra yardage. Once he is in the open field, Gibbs is a threat to take it all the way, as there aren’t many players who are able to keep up with him.
He has some of the best receiving ability in the class for a running back. Gibbs runs routes well, making him a mismatch for most linebackers. He creates separation, which makes him an easy target for his quarterback. While he has some drops, his hands are solid. Once the ball is in his hands, Gibbs is great at running after the catch and can pick up plenty of yardage.
Not only is Gibbs a great straight-line athlete, but he has also shown good elusiveness as well. In short areas, he is able to move laterally, making cuts to force defenders to miss him. He has good agility and can shift his weight quickly in order to hit open holes. Gibbs is an athletic player, whether that is in open space or in tight quarters.
Jahmyr Gibbs Weaknesses
Gibbs does not have the greatest power, as he is a speed-back. He has a decent build for a running back, but could add to it to help prove to teams he can be an every-down back. Gibbs makes people miss, but doesn’t run through arm tackles very often or show great contact balance.
He is usually used as a pass-catcher on third downs, but could show better pass protection. Gibbs can add strength to allow him to hold his blocks longer. He can also square up his blocks and hit players head-on in order to protect the quarterback better. Gibbs can be used to chip and can be sparingly used as a protector, but it is not a strength of his.
While Gibbs has solid vision, there are times when he can get out ahead of his blockers. He also can be late to see cut-back lanes, which leaves yards on the table. His vision is great normally, but on these types of plays he will need to speed up his processing.
Projected Draft Range: First-Round Pick- Second-Round Pick
